Six Pointers for Sustainable Travel

 Six Pointers for Sustainable Travel

Six sustainable travel tips for you, people around you, and the environment.

  1. Use reusable masks

To protect yourself, other travelers, and the locals of the villages you are exploring, you should always wear a mask while you are inside or outside and social distancing is not possible. Reusable masks are more affordable and environmentally favorable for travel destinations while yet guaranteeing that medical personnel has access to masks of the highest caliber.

2. Turn off the water while you wash your hands

Although experts advise washing your hands for at least 20 seconds in warm water with soap, you shouldn't waste water. Consider turning off the water while you wash your hands if the sink you are using does not have automated sensors. This can help conserve water, which benefits the environment and the communities in the area you are visiting.

3. Wash your hands over sanitiser when possible

Hand sanitizer is less effective than washing your hands for 20 seconds with warm water and soap to kill hazardous bacteria. By only using hand sanitizer when necessary, you will use less of the plastic and other resources needed to make it, helping to save the environment. You will also need to buy or replenish it less frequently.

4. Use reusable & refillable sanitiser containers

To lessen plastic waste, use hand sanitizers in eco-friendly packaging and refillable sanitizer containers. These offer a greener option to hand sanitizer's tiny, single-use plastic bottles. Another choice is to buy more hand sanitizer in bulk and refill your smaller container as necessary.

5. Avoid single-use items when possible

According to studies, single-use objects can give people a false sense of security rather than being necessarily safer than reusable ones. Avoid using single-use products as much as you can by being responsible and bringing your supplies, such as pens, plastic bags, and even reusable water bottles. This is more sustainable and keeps you and those around you in a safer environment.

6. Walk & bike whenever possible

Research demonstrates that being outside considerably reduces the probability of COVID-19 transmission. It is healthier for the environment, your health, and the well-being of others around you to go by foot, bicycle, or on open-deck tours.
